For the second year in a row, AIDA in cooperation with the TAT, Blue Planet Divers and Mares as sponsors held the Free Diving competition at the Rawi Warin. The 3 day event attracted over 20 top class athletes including the world champion from France .
The competition was held in the resorts main pool as well as in the open sea near 5 Islands .
Holding breathe under water saw the winner with a time of over 5 minutes, swimming distance under water at just below 200 meters and deep diving that reached almost 60m meters. A great event for divers and spectators alike.
The vowed to be back in 2010!

Dear Friends:
A very Thai New Year to everyone. The traditional Songkran festivities
and ceremonies which focus on gentle dousing and the beautiful
sprinkling of water, a mark of respect for
our elders, is unigue and a hightlight that would impress our
guests as well.
During this festival our in-house guests truly enjoyed traditional
Thai Religious ceremony in the early morning and entertained
with acrobatic stunts and firework show at night

Dear Friends:
As promised, Rawi Warin Resort & Spa, scheduled for early
December soft opening, is now 75 % completed, with many of
our facilities and
food & beverage outlets in the final stages of interior
decoration.
- Upon completion, we will have a total of 17 swimming pools.
Our main swimming pool with children’s pool comprises 1000
square meters, lap swimming pool ( 18 meters long x 4 meters
wide ), cliff top swimming pool with panoramic view of Lanta
island ( 100 square meters ), mobile ocean swimming
pool ( 200 square meters ), and our 11 private pools in
the seaside villas.
- Half of our boat fleet (total 6 boats), has been constructed
and completed, and by the end of August 2005, they will
be floating in front of our resort in Lanta. The resort’s
boat fleet will be ready for romantic sunset cruises, scuba
excursions, transfers from Krabi / Phuket / and other nearby
islands, crab and squid fishing trips, and incentive boat
trips, by end of August 2005.
- Our 10,000 trees have been planted on the site, and expect
to flourish during the rainy season, and will be in full
bloom within two months.
- Our waterways have been completed, and will be water tested
by early August to ensure that they will be in full function
by December 2005.
- All
accommodations with guaranteed sea views, have begun
interior decoration, and are expected to be finished by
November 2005. Outside structures have already been completed,
and are looking impressive.
- The
entire outlook is indeed very promising, and keeps us
on our projected schedule. We look forward to your continued
support, and hope to welcome many of you on your site visits
in the near future.

On December 18, 2005, Rawi Warin Resort
& Spa welcomed Mr Craig Ferguson, son Tom and Ms
Abi MacDonald, the first official guests to the Resort.
During their two week stay with us the family unwittingly
played a huge role in assisting the Rawi Warin Resort &
Spa team familiarize themselves with having actual ‘guests’
in the Resort and finally put their expertise into practice.
As in all Hotel & Resort openings many challenges arise
for the staff and at times for the guests as well. The Ferguson
party sailed admirably through the minor challenges that inadvertently
came their way and we are pleased to say enjoyed their stay.
In honor of being our first official guests and as a gesture
of thank you for their support, Mr Pramote Titayangkurn the
owner and President of Rawi Warin Resort
& Spa, presented Mr Ferguson, his son and Ms MacDonald,
with a complimentary weeks accommodation inclusive of return
airfares from the UK on Thai Airways.
