after testing has confirmed that the island of Lanta has some of the best water quality in the south of Thailand. Filtering through the lime stone ground of Lanta, we are able to pump up a virtually potable quality. Nevertheless, water remains a natural resource that has to be controlled wherever possible. Besides giving our guests the regular practiced opportunity under our "Every Drop Counts" campaign to conserve water by declining daily changes of linen, we have, from construction point onwards, planned to use H2O with care and as many times as possible. After being used in the guest rooms and public areas, we have our own water treatment facilities. Passing the cleaning system we add the treated water to feed our ponds and waterfalls. Whenever required, we pump this water to the storage tanks on the highest point of the resort and from there reuse it to our gardening sprinkling system. No more power required, gravity does the trick.

But we don't stop there. In our never-ending efforts to be good neighbors with nature and running our property as eco friendly as possible, the 3 RRR's ( "R"ecycling, "R"euse and "R"educe ) concepts are fully implemented and we have added another 2 RR's for "R"effuse and "R"eject. No un-required packaging is accepted upon delivery of goods. Our suppliers are informed to keep it to a safety and sanitary minimum. Those that are not willing to comply will have to find new customers. Recycling is not only environmental friendly; it's a business. Separating plastic, aluminum (Aluminum can opening pins are collected by our staff to donate for the production of artificial limbs), metals, glass and paper is easily sold to companies that make a living on turning old to new.

Food waste is turned into EM ( Effective Microorganism ) which we use for fertilizing our landscaping and water treatments. Cheap ( you only invest in the equipments ), effective and 100% natural. Looking at our gardens, you won't believe that we don't use any chemical fertilizers at all.

We don't stop there. Bio-Diesel is produced in-house from old oil. Our mini vans, pick-ups and fleet of ocean cruisers enjoy the natural fuel as much as regular diesel. The consumption is measured carefully in order to ensure that our drivers and boat captains keep within the speed limits as specified by the management.

Thumbs up.. Your Green Team
